Henry Yip

Chairman, Board of Advisor

Mr. Henry Yip is the President of C'andcee Development. Hes was born in Shanghai, China and grew up in Hong Kong. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario and received Advanced Management training at the Wharton School of Business.

Henry is a senior business executive with over thirty years of broad business experience in Canada and USA. He has held senior executive positions in large corporations and entrepreneurial business enterprises. He has advised governments in the area of city planning, strategy development, technology commercialization, international business collaboration and grant applications approval. He successfully led the creation of several for profit business ventures.

Henry is currently President, C.andcee Development focusing on private equity management and providing strategic business guidance to entrepreneurial enterprises. He is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation. He is the Executive Chair at Nirix Technology Inc., an Information Technology service provider. He was a co-founder and director of L1 Capital Corporation, a capital pooling company listed on the Toronto Venture Stock Exchange. He is on the small business loan review panel for Canadian Youth Business Foundation. He is on the judging panel for the Top 20 under 20 Awards, a nation-wide awards program run by Youth in Motion. He serves on the Boards of Alberta Science Literacy Association and Canadian Women in Communications. He was the Vice Chair of the Advisory Council for the Faculty of Engineering at Western.

He was the CEO at DriveABLE Inc., a health care services company with operations in Canada and USA. He held the position of Executive Vice President, Network Services at AT&T Canada/Allstream, a national telecommunications service provider. He held several executive positions at Telus, a Western Canada based national telecommunications service provider, including Vice President, Network Services, Vice President, Multimedia and Advisory Board Chair of Telus Geomatics. He held senior management positions at Bell Canada, an Eastern Canada based telecommunications service provider and Jones Lightwave Ltd., an US based telecommunications services new venture enterprise. He has also served on boards of several commercial and not-for-profit enterprises, e.g. Global Thermoelectric Ltd, a Calgary based fuel cell developer and Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association.


John Pinsent, CA

John is a founding Senior Partner with St. Arnaud Pinsent Steman Chartered Accountants following a distinguished ten-year career with Ernst and Young LLP. John was the recipient of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta Early Achievement Award for 2001 and the 2002 Economic Development Edmonton Ambassador Award. He serves as a Director of the Alberta California Venture Channel. John has a particular passion for assisting early stage biotechnology and information technology companies and has been an active angel investor and mentor to organizations in this space.
